As a result of my research into the Futian Market, the biggest primary wholesale market in China, I decided to search for objects that could have been made there and were now sold in my local malls. I was hoping to make visible the global network of connections that structures our contemporary globalised reality. I picked a cheap toy candy dispenser and used drawing to help me understand how it was made. My decision to make a colouring book telling the story of the dispenser from first hand perspective was a playful attempt at educating people on recognising
how we are connected in the system of capitalism.
